ranger vs dopple questions
question 1;
if the dopple summons "Favourable Winds" spirit, will the damage also work for me?
question 2;
if i bring like 5 spirits in my bar, will he cast all five of them? even if they are useless? like Winter?
question 3;
do you guys think i will be able to kill the dopple on my level 13 ranger using power shot, penetrating shot, and tiger's fury?
thx!

1) Yes. The spell says that all arrows within the spirit's range will be given the bonuses.
2) Yes he will cast all five of them. Apparently ANet thinks we're pretty dumb if our Dopples go through all that.
3) You should be able to. Bring a fast firing bow for best effects with TF. Apply Poison + Distracting Shot is another good way to go. (Bring Spirits and Apply Poison. Use AP as soon as fight begins. He'll start using Sprits. Keep hitting him till he starts to use AP. Distracting Shot it and go about your merry ways.)

would Graygore's zealous shortbow be a good idea?
(max, 15>50, +5 armor, 1/-1 zealous)

Yes it would. By fast firing bow I meant short bow or half moon. Good luck with your dopple.

Bring Nature Rituals, Apply Poison, Dual Shot, and Tigers Fury (depending on number of Rituals)...Tigers Fury could be substituted by Savage Shot (extra dmg+interupt if he using skill; i.e. Rituals).
And unlike Sol_Vie said, use Apply Poison before you step on the last stone in the messa, and skip the cutscene, then target Doppleganger and spam Dual Shot+Savage Shot or just do Tigers Fury+Dual Shot (Dopple should be poisoned at all time)

should i get up close into his melee range, or should i stay away from him? (his bow is much more dangerous in this situation, as he will have +dmg skills

1. Yes, thats how spirits work, always have, always will.
2. Yes, he will.
3. Leave TF at home, your Doppel will also use it, and then it can't cast the spirits.
I sugest bringing evey spirit you have and penatrating attack. With a 20-35s head start you should do fine

You wont get hurt if you have 5 Rituals, and with your bow, you will do nice DPS. But I think it would be better if you take a max dmg bow and add a poisoners bow string to it (since you dont have many points to spend in WS), so just get a Stinger (thats how I beat him yesterday with my ranger [Stinger-5Rituals,Apply Poison,Dual Shot,1 free]). Stay as far away as possible (but still shoot at him), otherwise he goes melee on your ass.

Ah, thats a good point. If you get into melee range, it will indeed switch to melee. Thats great! As soon as he starts casting, run in his face, and shoot away. If it's still not dead by the time the rituals cast, the dopple won't be able to use the bow attacks you brought against you!

If you still haven't beaten your mirror, Bring like 4 or so spirits, troll, distracting shot, and kindle or w/e that adds damage. Let your mirrior spam those things while you don't and just stand there and shoot it to death. Right as it finishes the spirits, it'll probably try and use troll, that's what distracting shot is for right? After that it's is Game, Set, Match, unless you do something stupid.

savage Shot
Trolls
Apply Poison
Dual shot
Nothing else on skill bar.
Use a short bow for faster rate of fire as range doesn't matter.
Apply posion then Trolls before you step on the last stone, step on it and skip the movie, fire dual shot and continue to fire normally till he tries to use trolls, Savage Shot him.
I killed him in about 50 seconds maybe a bit less.

what you can do which worked perfectly for me (r/me) was you only bring
backfire, favorable winds, and a useless mesmer spirit (i bought imagined burden)
take a max dmg bow that u can meet the req for. put all ur points in domination and marks.
right when you go in cast bakfire (he will be castin fav winds at this time). when you are done move 2 steps forward and start firing with ur bow. he will then take out his axe to hit you and hopefully u will do more dmg with your bow then his axe (since ur lvl 13) (he will cast imagined burden at least once before bakfire is over( this deals 90-110 dmg to him depending on ur pts on domination.

Your doppleganger won't have a pet so your pet don't actually come with you into the fight as it is suppose to be a one-to-one fight.

Well Ranger is, by far, the easiest dopple killer, even at noobie levels.
You can go spirits only, or combine that with the Apply Poison/Distracting tactic. Both will equally make you own.

Simple: Bring 6 spirits (or as many as you have), Troll Unguent, and Savage/Distracting Shot.
-Let him cast all the 5 second spirits he wants, but use Savage/Distracting Shot to prevent him from using Troll Unguent.
-Just bow him to death. If needed, use Troll Unguent when he's busy casting spirits, but ONLY when he's casting spirits (so he doesn't interrupt you).
